Trip Overview

The Chitwan National Park (CNP) is the first and most famous wildlife destination of Nepal. It is situated at the southern part of Kathmandu at the distance of about 170 KM. It is about 6 hrs bus ride and 15 mins. flight from capital. The total area of this park is measured as 932 sq. KM. The park includes hilly areas of the Siwalik range covered by deciduous sal forest and captured with grass, savannah and riverine vegetation. The park is made up of the flood plains of the Narayani, Rapti and Reu rivers.

In between these landscape and area any one can enjoy the different spices of endangered wildlife such as Asian one horned rhinoceros and Royal Bengal tigers, four different spices of deer, leopards, langurs, sloth bears, wild boars, rhesus monkeys, wild dogs, white stocking gaurs and many other smaller animals. Two different type of crocodiles Ghariyal and marsh mugger cavort in the river water. This park is also famous as bird watchers paradise with more than 450 different spices of regular and migrant birds including cormorants, egrets, stork geese, jingle fowl, king fishers and endangered spices such as Bengal florician, Lesser florician, Brahmin, duck, pintails, Indian pitta and parakeets.

How to get there?
By road:
The five-hour drive on the prithvi Highway takes you along the bank of the Trisuli River and through colorful Tharu village .

By air:
From Kathmandu to Bharatpur there is daily two flight which takes about 25 minutes .

By raft:
We can depart from Kathmandu at 7:00am by car/ tourist coach mugling (confluence Marshyangdi m and Trisuli river )from where rafting begins rafting adventure over swirling white water and scenic floats ,end in the heart of the narayangarh , close to National park . from where our vehicle transfer Chitwan National park.

Key Activities

Elephant Ride:
You can travel through open grassland and dense forest on elephant back in search of rare wildlife. Your Elephant ride or known as Jungle Safari experiences one horned rhino, various species of deer, wild boar, sloth bear, leopard, bison and the big one, the Royal Bengal tiger etc. Elephant safari through the jungle provides more game spotting opportunities than might be expected otherwise as it goes deeper into the jungle.

Jungle Walk:
Jungle walk is another way of experience the wilderness. You can enjoy a natural walk in the jungle in safety accompanied by our well trained naturalist who will interrupt the hidden secrets of the land as you walk through ancient groves or perch in a strategically located watch tower (Machan). Our trained naturalist will take you across the flowing water of the Rapti River and the prime areas of the park to view nature's gifts like wild species of animal and birds blended with the surrounding flora and fauna. Early morning and late afternoon walk is the best to avoid mid day heat. Spot the view of deer, rhino, sloth bears and other wildlife.

Jungle Drive:
You can have the unique experience of driving jeep in to the jungle. You can go into the jungle and park to view birds and animals. A thrilling tour in a four wheel drive into the heart of the park will enable you to view some of the rarest species of animals, birds etc, usually deep beyond the beaten track. We will take you across the river in to the jungle in four wheels drive vehicles and have more frequent sightings of the parks unique animals.

Canoeing:
A typical hand-made dugout canoe will take you a ride on the great Rapti River where you can see gharials and crocodiles basking in the sun and enjoy watching many colorful birds on the way.

Village Visit:
Village visit will be accompanied by an expert naturalist who knows the area well. You will gain insight the indigenous Tharus, the ancient native people of the Chitwan jungle. Also experience the local routes and typical lifestyles of villagers. This gives visitors an opportunity to intermingle with locals.

Cultural Program:
A cultural program performed by the Tharus is another way to enjoy and make meaningful contrast of visit. Get entertain with stick dances and folk songs. The drumbeat and the agile breathtaking stick dance performed by the Tharus people. Their rhythmic movements and the exciting drumbeat may urge you to join them in their performances.

Bird Watching:
The park is well known as a paradise for the birds. Bird lovers will have a wonderful opportunity to see many species of birds here. There are more than 500 species of birds in the Park that can be seen in many exciting location river, grassland and the forests. Species like the Giant Hornbill, Lesser Frolic and the paradise Flycatcher will also attract your attention when traveling along the banks of the Rapti River.

Elephant Bath:
It is a unique experience to take a bath with an elephant in the Rapti River. You might even find yourself taking a surprise shower from an elephant's trunk while you are riding on its back.
